Belt-driven automatic transmission with forward and reverse. Rear differential lock allows rear wheels to be locked for maximum traction. Ground disturbance is minimised when unlocked.
The MULE SX is powered by a 401cc, 4-stroke, OHV, air-cooled engine. Compact, lightweight and durable, the engine is extremely reliable.
The Mule’s SX 905 mm x 1,044mm x 245mm (L x W x H) cargo tray holds a sizable 181kg. Cargo bed features a two-lever tailgate release system for easy opening and closing.
Steel front bumper is a standard feature, offering protection to the front of the vehicle. Positioned close to the body for an integrated look.
Seat material has superb elasticity, offering all-day 2-seater comfort. The material is resistant to cold, allowing it to maintain suppleness when the temperature drops.
Headlamp switch and accessory horn switch are positioned just to the right of the driver. Blank spots allow switches for accessories to be seamlessly integrated into the dash.
A 16-litre fuel tank gives the fuel-efficient MULE an ample operating range. The fuel tank filler inlet position makes refuelling easy.
Dual halogen headlamps cut a bright path through the dark for clear visibility when driving at night. The Halogen headlamps contribute to the no-nonsense styling
Steering wheel has a stepless adjustability range of approximately 29o;set a position to suit driver preference and lift it out of the way to for easy in and out of the vehicle.
Removable front hood allows quick access to a spacious 60-litre sealed storage area. The hood releases are on the cabin side, allowing access from inside the cabin.
The engine’s air supply enters the air cleaner box via a snorkel intake routed through the tubing of the overhead frame, ensuring the engine is provided with a steady supply of clean air.
Thick-grip steering wheel combined with the automotive-style dashboard puts all controls within easy reach of the driver.
22″ tyres with tread patterns provide great off-road traction and ample ground clearance.
Passenger-side glove box provides storage. Two drink holders are built into the bodywork in front of the dashboard. Accessory storage bin can be fitted to the space under the bench seat.
An optional trailer hitch offers a 500 kg towing capacity. Optional winch mount accommodates a number of after-market Warn winches.
Independent MacPherson strut-type front suspension allows each wheel to track over uneven ground. Minimal wheel camber change throughout the suspension stroke contributes to stable handling.
Unit swingarm with dual shocks with adjustable spring preload. Front and rear suspension settings were selected for off-road performance and ride comfort.
Skid plates for the front differential, engine and rear differential are fitted as standard equipment. Centre skid plate greatly reduces the chance of getting stuck when driving over obstacles.
Retractable seat belts are user-friendly and clutter-free.
The parking brake lever (conveniently located to the left of the driver’s seat) operates a mechanical internal expansion type brake for the rear wheels.
A DC socket integrated into the dashboard provides a power supply (up to 120 W) for accessory items or personal devices.
The Mule SX has compact dimensions allow it to easily fit in the back of a full-sized utility / truck. The track measures 1,055 mm (front) and 1,000 mm (rear) with a wheelbase of 1,780 mm. The Mule SX has a turning radius of 3.3 metres (differential unlocked).
